His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan
The Ministry of Tolerance was first established by Government Decree in February 2016 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. In July 2020, the Ministry of Tolerance was changed to the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan is a Cabinet Member and the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan assumed his role as Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in October of 2017. Joining the Federal Government in 1992, His Excellency held several key positions including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Minister of Education and the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development

In addition to his ministerial portfolio, H.E. Sheikh Nahayan served as the Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University from 1983 to 2013, the Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology from 1988 to 2013 and the President of Zayed University from 1998 to 2013.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan received his secondary education from the British Millfield School in the UK before joining the Magdalen College at Oxford University.
