ABU DHABI, 18th March, 2019 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, today inaugurated the Conference on the Family’s Role in Consolidating the Values of Tolerance. The conference is organised by the Ministry of Tolerance under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.In his opening speech during the conference, which is being held at the Emirates Palace, Sheikh Nahyan in Mubarak stressed that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the UAE, represents the role model and the sincere efforts of Emirati families in all fields.He expressed his pride in the role of the family in the UAE – which includes women, men, children and the extended family – in raising children to uphold noble values, including tolerance, which is a vivid embodiment of the teachings of the Islamic religion and an expression of the authenticity of Arab and Islamic heritage.The Arab and Islamic heritage, as Sheikh Nayhan noted, ensures fruitful life full of harmony, compassion, positive dialogue and respect for religions and cultures for the benefit of all, where the family in the UAE is keen to develop knowledge of people and openness to them positively. The UAE family, he added, works on correcting misconceptions and getting rid of stereotypes of others, stressing that this reflects the expectations of the leadership and their interest in providing a decent life for the entire population, and affirms that the UAE community is a large cohesive family.
