AJMAN, 12th May, 2019 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, said that the UAE has become a global model of tolerance respected by the whole of humanity.He added that the values of tolerance, which are a part of everyone’s lives in the UAE, were established by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who realised that tolerance creates a civilised and intellectual nation and a loving and peaceful community.Sheikh Ammar made this statement while receiving Turki bin Abdullah Al Dakheel, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the UAE, during the first ‘Ammar bin Humaid Majlis’ organised by the Ajman Executive Council’s General Secretariat.He also praised the directive of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2019 as the Year of Tolerance, which calls on the world to adopt love and fraternity, as well as his policies that aim to promote tolerance among various cultures.Sheikh Ammar then lauded the directive of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to form the Year of Tolerance Supreme National Committee.Al Dakheel explained the historical development of the concept of tolerance and its connection to social sciences while praising the UAE’s efforts to promote tolerance throughout its history, since its establishment by Sheikh Zayed.The UAE has adopted many international initiatives to promote tolerance, which is now a key part of the UAE’s policies, programmes and initiatives that aim to ingrain its values among the community, he added.The UAE established the Ministry of Tolerance and created a national tolerance programme, which aims to promote moderation, acceptance, peace and coexistence. It also launched the International Institute for Tolerance Institute, the UAE Tolerance and Peaceful Coexistence Association, and a centre for training government employees on the culture of tolerance.The meeting was attended by many Sheikhs, officials and experts.
