ABU DHABI, 3rd May, 2018 (WAM) — The Ministry of Tolerance is organising major celebration tomorrow on the occasion of International Workers’ Da, with the participation of over 12,000 workers from eight sites in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with several local, federal and private authorities.The main workers’ site in Yas Island will witness the event’s key activities, as well as other activities, events and programmes for the workers from eight sites in Mussafah and other areas.The events will include competitions and various knowledge-based activities that will see the participation of schools students, as well as New York University Abu Dhabi students, together with the workers who reside in workers’ cities. They will also include performances and an international heritage programme that combines Emirati, Asian and Arab folklore.Many organisations, such as Etisalat, du and the Indian Businessmen Association in Abu Dhabi, have come together to support the celebration.Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance, stated that the ministry’s initiative to celebrate with the workers on their international day is part of the support of the UAE and its wise leadership for workers, who are the foundation of the nation’s production sector and sustainable development. He explained that the celebration is a message of gratitude to the workers, regardless of their nationality, role or stature, for their diligent efforts, dedication and loyalty to the UAE and its wise leadership.Sheikh Nahyan added that the UAE, since its establishment by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has spared no efforts to support workers, and its history has hundreds, and even thousands of examples of this, which is why the theme, Zayed’s UAE Brings Us Together, was chosen for the celebration.He further added that the ministry’s initiative aims to promote compassion and solidarity while affirming the humanitarian values of the UAE community. He then thanked the workers for their efforts while stressing that the UAE has become a unique model of caring for workers and promoting their rights, as part of the Emirati community that is characterised by tolerance, which is an umbrella that gathers everyone under its shade.The UAE and its wise leadership and giving people are always aiming to establish the values of coexistence, tolerance, chivalry and acceptance of others, making it an international centre that attracts people from around the world, in light of the vision and ongoing support and giving of the wise leadership, represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Sheikh Nahyan said in conclusion.
